Hey welcome to another episode of Escape The Rat Race Radio, my name is Christian Rodwell and today I’m talking with Perry Marshall - best selling author of the 80/20 Sales & Marketing, The Ultimate Guide to Google Adwords and The Ultimate Guide to Facebook Advertising.
Perry is recognised as one of the leading authorities out there on the subject of marketing, having been endorsed in FORBES and INC Magazine and is one of the most expensive business consultants in the world. He has clients in over 300 industries who value his capacity to integrate sales, technology, art and psychology.
Perry is a smart guy who has a degree in Electrical Engineering, and his reinvention of the Pareto Principle is published in Harvard Business Review, and NASA's Jet Propulsion Labs at the California Institute of Technology also use his 80/20 Curve as a productivity tool.
When Google Adwords was launched Perry became one of the very first to realise it’s huge potential and quickly became an expert user. In 2008 along with Bryan Todd he co-authored The Definitive Guide to Google Adwords, laying the foundations for what has now grown into a $100bn pay per click industry.
In part 1 of my conversation with Perry which you’re about to hear, we don’t even get close to speaking about the 80/20 principle which is what Perry is so well known for within the sales and marketing world. Instead, we talk today about what life used to be like for Perry, and how he was just a regular guy doing a regular job just like the rest of us.
His first taste of sales actually came through an association with Amway, one of the biggest MLM distribution companies in the U.S - and perhaps it was this experience that led Perry to become one of the worlds most in demand marketing experts that he is today.
