Hey welcome to another episode of Escape The Rat Race Radio, my name is Christian Rodwell and this week my guest is Lydia Lee, Founder and Creator of Screw The Cubicle - an online community not dissimilar to Escape The Rat Race, that focuses on helping individuals discover "What's Next?" in their new chapter of life.
Lydia climbed her way up the corporate ladder in her home town of Vancouver and had bagged a comfortable six-figure job for herself. However, after having a realization that it wasn’t the life she wanted, she quit and started launching businesses of her own.
As you will have heard from so many of my previous guests before, success didn’t happen overnight, but after a lot of soul searching and persistence, Lydia went on to build a business that’s not only profitable, but purposeful, and allows her to design her work around the lifestyle she wants to lead.
Lydia’s work has been featured in Forbes Magazine and Huffington Post and retweeted by Sir Richard Branson, and shared by Tim Ferriss.
In today’s episode, you’ll hear what some of the common mistakes are that people make when starting a new business, and what you should be doing instead, as well as a great tip for identifying what skills you already have which may have been forgotten about after years of being held a corporate hostage!
